I have been writing articles online for at least a year now. It was a tedious job from the beginning but somehow, I got through and still maintain the same enthusiasm and energy I had. It is not that this activity is easier for me now. It is still tedious but I totally enjoyed it now and the need to satisfy my passion for writing has been accomplished.
Aside from fulfilling that inner dream, several opportunities and beautiful things came my way out of this experience. Firstly, I had been involved in several writing sites like Triond, Bukisa and Wikinut. I am not anymore active with these sites since I finally found Knoji or Factoidz, another writing site which is more formal, professional and very much respected and trusted. I go by the pen name of P.Guims in the site. Visit it here.
Another great thing is that I was finally able to publish my blogs and earn from them. I have five blogs now (including GENSANarium) and I am currently working on more to cover other areas of interest.
But the best thing that ever happened is I found amazing friends. People just come and go in our lives. Some of the writers have gone, but many are still around. And from the writing sites I worked for, I meet quite a lot of Filipino writers (here and abroad) and we established the group known as The Filipino Diaspora.
Our group has created our blog to showcase our articles and personal blogs, and a Facebook page so we can easily get in touched with each other despite our busy schedules.
How the group was founded was combined destiny of chance and effort. Here is my article about it: From A Forum Thread To A Top Blog Site.
My fellow writer also created a video blog about us. Here it is:
And just recently, we came up with another video article, this time fun and lively.
Online writing has been quite a good source of extra income for me all this time. But more than the financial gain, it is the opportunity of meeting new people and friends and the knowledge earned from this experience that has truly motivated me to keep it going….
